Lock Screen

If I go to Settings/Security and Privacy/Lock Screen, the first option at the top of the screen is "Allow Power/Lock Key to Unlock Device". It doesn't matter whether the feature is on or off, if my device is locked, the only way I can unlock it is by putting in my password one letter at a time. Does anybody know how this option works, or is it another BB Classic mystery?

Re: Lock Screen

the security level wont allow the button to simply unlock the phone.
why would anyone want to allow it if they have a password set and anyone can open the phone.

the locked phone does allow emergency calls to be made even when locked with a password.

At first, it doesn't make sense, as tsac says. However, if one wanted to easily get by the password requirement while at home, it would make it easier to get past the password with one push. i.e. activate the option while at home; deactivate when away - just don't forget.

Now your asking your phone to watch you and when your near unlock.

Ok, maybe the next OS upgrade .

No. Still do it manually, but with only one button push on the Power or Lock key.
