What apps are working on the 9630
 

Do you think we will run into application issues, with OS 4.7 on the 9630?

The only other BB with 4.7 is the Storm and not all the apps work on the Storm yet.. I suppose that is because of the Touchscreen however.

I would guess there will be some at first, however I think the kinks will eventually get worked out. It should be a very popular phone.

Should be and I might just hold out a month till I find out that the Apps I use are compatible with 4.7.. Maybe.

I am plunging in. The Storm was more of a touchscreen issue. Many other apps are 4.6+ we shall see.

"Compatibility mode" should make things okay for troublesome apps.

What apps are working on the 9630?
 

There are a few apps I cannot do without. Can you all with the Tour post what apps you have working on it?

So far no problems with Opera Mini & Pandora.

REX ToDoMatrix is not working. i see on the REX forum someone else has a problem with it.

Pandora, Datavault, Beejive, Ubetwitter, Youmail, Poynt.

Viigo works fine...and WSJ.com reader.

Social Scope works but font is very small.


Any GPS maps unlocked??? Besides BB Maps?

You might be able to adjust the font. I went to the store and played with the Tour for quite a while. I was dismayed that the font on web pages was so small until I found there is a setting in browser options to change the font size. The wap BBF site looked fine after I increased the font size.

Google maps thinks my tour is a storm probably because of the os. I can't hit the "buttons" because I have no touch screen. But good news gps is unlocked with vzw at least :)

My NY Yankees and NY Times shortcuts both say "The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL."

Just started searching on this issue. I found something on RIM website about URLs containing an "@" giving this error. Unknown what the deal is.

Heres what ive installed and tested so far, have not found any problems with these particular apps:

shazam (had to download from site, not on app world for some reason, but it worked)
bolt
youmail visual voicemail
nobex
viigo
slacker
travel genius
app world
poynt
google maps
facebook
aim

the location features work perfectly as well, so no more locked gps garbage like my old 8830.

Tiny Twitter does not work.

Google Maps works with GPS.

I will say this...

I've done a battery pull because Weatherbug locked up and it takes a LONG time to boot up!

Seems to be my problem with the YouTube app. Not recognizing the trackball - I think it's waiting for a screen press.
