SKYPE problems
 

I have a Storm (9550) and am experiencing sever problems trying to use SKYPE. I have downloaded the latest from the App store.
Here are the problems:
1) periodically SKYPE simply exits. When I try to start it, I get a message "Skype only works in the US......." which I thought I told SKYPE to not tell me again after the initial install. The message is annoying, the fact that SKYPE exits is unacceptable. It may be related to me driving through areas w/o cell phone signal but I am not sure
2) approximately 1 out of 3 times SKYPE looks up trying to connect. It an not be closed or restarted w/o rebooting the device.

I was wondering whether anybody else has these issues or maybe even a solution. This is so unacceptable that I am seriously thinking of getting any other smartphone.

In my experience, the Skype app for BlackBerry has always been a piece of crap.
It hasn't been given enough attention by the developers (for obvious reasons) and it's still full of bugs.

If Skype is one of your "must have" apps, then I do suggest switching to a non-BlackBerry device. Skype on Android or iPhone is pretty damn good. (I use both regularly.)

thanks for the advice, appreciate it. I'm glad to hear SKYPE on Android works good, my preference over iPhone.
