PLZ PLZ PLZ HELPPP |
you NEED a blackberry data plan to get blackberry services.
the data plan IS the services. without a data plan you wont get email, use BBM, MSN or anything else BB services related. |
wrong!
you are wrong man ... see this article on how you can access blackberry services without data plan ..
cisco.com/en/US/solutions/collateral/ns340/ns394/ns348/ns772/networking_solution_solution_overview0900aecd806f4 3ca.pdf it is clearly shown that it is possible to use all blackberry services with WIFI connection only WITH NO DATA PLAN. only u have to connect to blackberry infrastructure through some port ... This is accomplished by establishing an SSL connection via port 443 to the BlackBerry Infrastructure. |
"The page you have requested cannot be found"
Trust me, you can't do it. And I'm not a man. |
loool i am sorry for that ,,, try to put w w w . at first or google with "access blackberry services with WIFI" .. i cannot post a link because i dont have enough posts sorry for that
|
I did put www before it, it doesnt exist on cisco.
I have found an article that mention SSL 443, but it states: allows BlackBerry smartphone users with qualifying data plans to access BlackBerry data services using a wireless network, a Wi-Fi® network, or both networks simultaneously. NOT without a data plan, but WITH a data plan. You CANNOT access blackberry services WITHOUT a data plan. And this is the article incase you doubt me: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/ataglan..._Via_Wi-Fi.pdf |
try this link
w w w . na.blackberry.com/eng/ataglance/networks/Accessing_BlackBerry_Data_Services_Via_Wi-Fi.pdf |
I know, read my above post.
|
yes in this article .. check the page 6 of 7 ... u will find in the table " Wi-Fi network
without service provider GSM/EDGE network**" and u will find also " Wi-Fi network plus service provider GSM/EDGE network*" so what is this ???? |
It means having the wi-fi box checked, but the mobile network box unchecked.
you still NEED the data plan to make it work! |
This is why I don't participate in threads where people start with "I don't I have a data plan".
|
Maybe I should start doing that.
|
Two types of threads I avoid:
- I don't have a data plan - Someone stole my theme (drama) |
i also was sure that u cant access any services without a data plan but when i found this article it made me crazy... then how it will connect to the blackberry infrastructure of u turn the data plan from phone off ????? i am a network engineer and am sure that its not possible to connect through wifi to blackberry based in data plan while its off .. another thing is what is the use of connecting to blackberry services through WIFI when u already have the data plan ???
|
anyway thank you Midnightdraven & NJBlackBerry for replying .. im so sorry if i take some of ur time with this useless topic :) so sorry
|
Firstly, a data plan gives you service books.
These service books allow access to Blackberry services. When connected to wi-fi only (with mobile network unchecked BUT data services: ON) it still connects to BIS through wi-fi. This is the way a blackberry works. Wi-fi on blackberries, and connecting to blackberry services, is so you can use the wi-fi instead of your data plan MB's incase you are on a pay per use, or low MB plan. It is also a faster connection for using apps and browsing the internet. Thats why. You basically didnt read the article correctly. |
aha understood :) thanks you very much you was so helpful to me :)
|
No problem.
