3G/WIFI generic blackberry VoIP softphone - sip client on www.voipswitch.com
Hi,
Voipswitch is offering now a generic version of the blackberry softphone. Can work with any SIP server. Support for WIFI and 3G. it can be downloaded from our website |
Is there a demo of this software available?
I downloaded http://www.callto.net/vippiebb/5/vippiebbudp.jad on my Blackberry Bold 9700 and there is no option to configure it for a SIP server. The only settings that I see are for username and password. I also downloaded it from http://voipswitch.com/dshop/dialers/bb5/Vippie.jad and it requests an activation code. I'm not sure about the other posters on this forum but I would like to know what the sound quality is like before buying it for $30 so a limited demo would help. I don't have an issue paying $30 (one time fee) if the sound quality is good/decent since it will still be cheaper to make calls than going through my carrier (service provider). |

You should check out BlackVoib. A true VoIP SIP SoftPhone. Works on both 3G and WIFI. The trial is 14 days before you buy. Check out their forum and faq too. It is lots of valuable information.

Re: 3G/WIFI generic blackberry VoIP softphone - sip client on www.voipswitch.com
Voipswitch is a bad company. They basically get e-mail addresses and start spamming them with their corporate products.
I keep getting these spam e-mails from this "marcel" guy at voipswitch.com (marcel@voipswitch.com) and even though I mentioned that I'm a consumer and I'm not interested in his corporate products, he continues to e-mail my account with the corporate products. My mistake was that I filled in their webform asking for information on their consumer VoIP product. They then started to keep sending me information on their corporate VoIP product (costing thousands of dollars) which I have absolutely no interest in and I've mentioned to them that I have no interest in their product. My personal feeling on such tactics is to avoid a company that does this. |
