BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
Hello everyone,
I am having a problem with calendar entries not synchronising from the BlackBerry device back to the BES Express server. Entries added in Outlook are created successfully on the device. Upon creating a calendar entry on the device, the following error is created in the Application Log: {users email address} Synchronize() failed: ERR_FAIL, Tag=24630 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daniel |
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
I having the same problem, if anyone can help!
Hi, we are a business using BES Express and approx 10 Blackberrys. On at least 3 of the handsets, the calendar sync is not working correctly. If we put an appointment on Outlook, this syncs to the phone but not vice versa. I have tried wiping one of the handsets and when I reactivate the BES, in the big long list of Syncing items, there is no Calendar (I'm sure there should be?) Everything else seems to be syncing ok but it does keep getting stuck on a certain % (62% and then 88%). I also tried deleting and undeleting the CICAL & SYNC service books but still no syncing. All handsets are Blackberry Bold 9700. Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance :? |
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
What version BES, Mail server, and CDO are you using?
|
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
We're using BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express 5.0.3 SP3, with Microsoft Exchange 2010 (with separate Mailbox Server & Client Access Server). CDO version is: 1.2.1 (6.5.8244.0)

Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
Check for possible permission problems:
logon to PC the BES server is runnning on, using the besadmin account. open a command-prompt change directory to: program files/Research in motion/Blackberry Enterprise server/Utility Execute "iemstest.exe" (if the program is not there you find it in the unpacked folder you used for installation of the BES in the root folder of your harddisk) Choose the mapi profile "Blackberry Server" Choose a user from tha GAL where the sync does not work correct. paste the result here, maybe, also again run a test with a user which is ok. Compare the result. |

Some more information...
In my case am running windows exchange server SP1, rest is same as mentioned above. In addition am not able to send meeting requests from my blackberry to others. The issue is with all the users. |
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
"John: No Send As permission for the {xxx\besadmin} account operator"
you should again to through this: KB02276-Assigning service account permissions for a BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange Also, make sure that the the users are not member of any special groups like administrators, printer operators, backup operators... |
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
Thank you for the reply.
I happened to access one more BES server in one of our other branch and i ran the IEMSTest.exe and found the same result as my server ïncluding the No Send As permission log. Surprisingly, they are not facing this issue. They are using Exchange server 2010 and BES 5.0 SP2 on Windows server 2008 R2 with CDO.dll 6.5.8190.0 and mapi32.dll 1.0.2536.0. Anyhow, i can go through these permission settings once again and post the result. If there is any other suggest pls let me know. |
Re: BES Express One Way Calendar Sync Problem
compare a good user with a bad one with ASDIEdit
Adsiedit: Active Directory you might have some legacy attribute blocking send as, I have seen it before with people that have upgraded form NT days to 200, 2003, to 2008 and some attributes from NT were causing the issue. Then again it might not be anything to do with it. The send as is a bit fun to figure out. |
