Cingular 7290 being used on T-Mobile
I was wondering if a lot of people have gotten the Cingular 7290 to use on T-Mobile?
It seems to be the best "traditional" Blackberry available... I am not a fan of the 7100 series (like the full keyboard!) Just curious! |
I have several running. With a BES it is easy. Pop in a SIM card, add to the BES and that's it.
With BWC you may have to get Cingular to release the PIN to T-Mobile so you can register it on the BWC. |
Didn't have to have Cingular do anything, the PIN registered on T-Mobile with No Issues!
|
What about a Tmobile 7100 on ATT? I have one unlocked & use corporate BES? Do I need to worry about PIN release or anything else?

7290
Where can I get an unlocked 7290 other than ebay? Thay all seem to be locked or no one czn verify if it will work or not! Thanks
|
I bought unlocked Cingular 7290s from http://www.eAccess-estore.com
You pay top dollar for them, but I got them with no contract since I already had SIM cards. |
I purchased mine through Amazon (you have to find the one with the no contract option). Didn't have to have Cingular do anything with the PIN. It registered on T-Mobile's BWC without any problems.

How long a go was this?
|
I did it last week!
|
Thanks. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you have to pay?
|
THey wanted $399.00 for the Blackberry without activation, but I asked and they had an open box, they took $100.00 off and it cost me $299!

I just took delivery of an unlocked, Cingular branded 7290. Popped in my T-Mobile SIM and the phone registered on T-Mo instantly - no problem. However, I use BWC, and the T-Mobile BWC webpage is not recognizing the PIN # and IMEI # for this 7290 at all. Who do I call - T-Mobile, Cingular or Blackberry?
|
Never mind - because of the font and font size I use, I had mis-read one digit of the PIN #. Once corrected, it registered with BWC no problem.
