OS: 9100/9105 OS 6.0.0.380 from Aircel (Multilanguage)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.1479 (Multilangauge)

Package Version: 6.0.0.1479
Consisting of:
Applications: 6.0.0.380
Software Platform: 6.6.0.85
File name: 9100_9105Asia_PBr6.0.0_rel1479_PL6.6.0.85_A6.0.0.3 80_Aircel.exe
File size: 146.72MB

Download here...
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...0853156601CF58

Select the model 9100, irrespective whether you have a 9100 or a 9105.
selecting the 9105 will return only OS 5.0.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 9100 or 9105:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

It has been running for 24 hours. Nothing special to report, except that I'm really happy OS 6 on this device, especially that my other phone is the Torch.

Hello everyone.

I am getting a 9105 next week. My first Blackberry :)

I'll let you know how this upgrade goes.

Oh...do I need to install the incremental upgrade first?

Congratulations! I hope you'll like your new device, and be happy to join the millions of satisfied BB users.

As to your question, you do not "need" to install the upgrade. I recommend you don't do it until you're comfortable with the device, and you're also comfortable with following the instructions that the great folks from BlackBerry Forums have posted.

Take care

I tried the link but it doesn't appear to be valid. I found the correct URL by Googling it but I can't post the URL as I haven't made the adequate number of posts yet.

Do you have a 9000 or a 9100? -- Your profile says 9000 and you're on the 9100/9105 section.
