Peter Tosh would be proud...

Measure to legalize marijuana will be on California's November ballot - latimes.com

The libertarian in me says awesome

The conservative in me says hold on a minute

The liberal in me says "don't bogart that joint my friend"

The Canadian in me says "It's about time"

I believe right now, we are currently decriminalized, but that's it.

Will this actually make that much of a difference in caLAMEfornia?

Do you actually think the Feds will allow this?

Do you think the caLAMEfornia welfare system will be able to handle all the extra freaks that would move there?

I suppose if done correctly it has the potential to generate millions in revenue. Something this state is in dire need of.

My ultimate issue with it is this...

How do you test someone who may be under the influence. You wouldn't want the driver of your comapny vehicle stoned off his gord during work. But as it stands the only test i know of is a blood or urine sample and since it lingers in your system there is no real way to tell if he/she was stoned today or last week.

Until they get a way to properlly test people, I doubt it will be legalized. Since pot stays in your system for a month, there is no way to tell when it was really smoked.

If they taxed it, it could mean a lot of revenue for the government and more honest work for all the growers out there. Many, many grow ops where I live, B.C. is pretty much known for it's marijuana. I've seen them being busted across the street before as well.

In some cities, you can have a grow op for about a year before cops start looking at you, because there are so many to bust it takes about year of being active by the time they catch up to you specifically.

or eaten or they just happened to be at a Dead show.

Haha, true!

It's like the poppy seed/opium thing. You can't tell if they are eating foods with poppy seeds in them, or just getting high on opium. There are many wrongful firing lawsuits due to this.

Just work for a company that doesn't test for drugs  haha.

Legalize it, by all means.

Anything legal is subject to taxation. (y)
