Blackberry Messenger Icon Not SHOWING UP!

My tour crashed on me. So I had to reinstall the operating system. After I finally got it up working smoothly, the Blackberry messenger icon didnt show up so I went on BlackBerry's mobile website and downloaded it. did a battery pull and still nothing. Im running 4.7.1.61. Anyone know how to bring back BB messenger?

Is it hidden?
In the instant messaging folder (its usually there) or the downloads folder?

Neither...Checked all three!!!

Go to Options > Advanced > Applications and scroll the Messenger application and don't click on it, just scroll to it. Click Menu > Delete and remove the application.

Now, do a reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to BlackBerry Messenger and download/install the Messenger application again.

After installation and possibly another reboot, check your Instant Messaging Folder, or Downloads folder for the application.

BBM Icon gone

I have the same issue.. here is how mine evolved..
BRAND NEW phone.. BBM icon was under IM folder.
Through the course of getting it set up, it said there was an updated version of BBM do I want to install. --> Yes.. Installed..

BBM Icon gone..

The application IS there and it DOES work.. you have to access it by going in to the "Switch Application" option via the berrrymenu. The BBM Icon DOES show up there.

Near as I can tell, it seems to be an issue with v5 of the OS and v5 of BBM. Maybe RIM will pay attention and quick patch it.. :bb: Cheers
