Rogers will not Sell the Zed30

Rogers snubs the BlackBerry Z30, leaves Canadian sales to Bell and Telus

Fascinating considering that Rogers has always been a BlackBerry stalwart.

Decision was apparently made months before the shenanigans started, so maybe they knew something we didn't.

Not that it matters, Rogers is famous for being the last to come out with new handsets, usually end up buying off another carrier or store (still available at Best Buy and FutureShop as well as Bell/Telus)

There go hundreds of sales.

I would have said dozens. I'd be surprised if they device even sold enough to break even.

Well that sucks. I actually want one. I was going to get a Q10 for my wife and a Z30 for myself. By coincidence, my 3 year Rogers contract is up on Oct. 15th. Maybe I switch to Bell.

Well, it's good to know some companies listen to their customers. Must have been more than a couple hundred who complained Rogers wasn't going to carry the Z30. I both called and let them know I was switching to the Bell in order to get the new BB. I also answered the online survey I received after my phone call stating the same thing.

Actually looking forward to not changing providers.

So they decided to carry it after all?

Statement: Rogers to carry the Blackberry Z30
October 09, 2013
Toronto, ON (October 9, 2013) - In response to customers'; feedback and excitement about the device, Rogers looks forward to offering the new Z30 to its customers.

We have a longstanding partnership with Blackberry and continue to be big supporters of the company and their products. Rogers will be making the device available online, through our national reservation system and directly to our business to business customers. We're pleased to add the new Z30 to our roster of Blackberry smartphones, which includes the Z10, Q10 and Q5.

Re: Rogers will not Sell the Zed30

Rogers sure isn't making it easy to get the Z30. None of the stores will stock them so you have to pre-order it on their site. Although when you go to their site there's no mention of them carrying the Z30 nor any mention of pre-ordering. I finally had to go on live chat in order to locate the pre-order page.

They sure don't seem interested in selling them.

It may be too early for Rogers to have the Z30 on their site. Or maybe they are following T-Mobile's lead and selling them via preorder but not in stores.

Re: Rogers will not Sell the Zed30

Senna, you can just go to a Best Buy or Future Shop and order one online through them (as an upgrade or existing customer with almost any carrier) or drop by one of the stores if you are close.

Re: Rogers will not Sell the Zed30

Thanks ZB. I dropped by a Rogers store and they told me the only way to order one was online. I didn't think of going to Best Buy or Future Shop. I have on pre-ordered now so I just sit and wait for it to arrive. No word on price or delivery. Although the charge you $40 immediately but that's refunded when you pick it up or cancel the order.

Re: Rogers will not Sell the Zed30

I went to both Best Buy and Future Shop and they don't have any Z30's in stock for Rogers. They told me to pre-order online which I have already done. When I checked my reservation status yesterday it said "Position 79". Today it said "Position 78".

I went on live chat to see if they could tell me what this means. I was told "we wouldn't know estimate time for arrival, as the device will be coming from blackberry and our warehouse to the store of your choice for pick up". So it could be a week, a month, a year?

May have to switch to Bell. They have them in stock at their stores for immediate pick up.

Although nobody I've contacted at Rogers can tell me what's going on, I saw this quote from them on Crackberry.

Quote:

xxx8220;Wexxx8217;re working closely with BlackBerry to certify the BlackBerry Z30 on our network and prepare our sales channels. Wexxx8217;re prepping to launch the BlackBerry Z30 device in the coming weeks. Wexxx8217;ve had good interest from our customers on our Rogers reservation system and wexxx8217;re looking forward to the launch.xxx8221;
Why the freakin' hell don't they post that on their website or let their customer service department know that. It would save people a lot of time. Idiots!

Funny they say they've had good interest on their reservation system considering there's no mention of it being available on their site, and practically impossible to find unless you're psychic. :x

So prospective Z30 owners will still have to wait it out a bit longer, but it's good to know that they are trucking along and we can hope that it won't be too much longer before we see an actual release.
