Sharing GPS output via Bluetooth
Is there any way to share the GPS in my Blackberry Bold 9000 (or later models) with an external device via Bluetooth?
I am a photographer and currently use a Qstarz Travel Recorder device which captures the GPS info and then passes that via Bluetooth to my Canon camera, which is fitted with their WFT-5 wireless receiver and a small USB Bluetooth card. This enables the photos to be geotagged with the long/lat data, etc. It occurs to me that rather than carrying the Qstarz device, I could use the Blackberry, which is always with me anyway. I've managed to pair the two - but the camera simply reported that there were 'no supported services' and dropped the connection. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! |
Re: Sharing GPS output via Bluetooth
Reversing the GPS output requires an App to send it out the BT radio. Currently only available app for this I can find is on an Android.
you can get a GPS pod that will do the sending to external devices. I used one on a 8700 BB and it worked good. |
