Can I transfer my TREO Caller ID Photos to Pearl?

I'll be getting my Pearl Monday, and have pictures for most of my contacts in my address book. Will the BBy "Switch Device" utility move my contacts AND thier associated pictures? If not, is there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Good question. I have no idea.

But I believe all the photo IDs are jpg so you shouldn't have any problems transferring those pictures to your Pearl and use it as your caller ID.

You may have to resize it though.

If you can add the caller ID photos to your Outlook, then you can sync with the BlackBerry, and all images come to the phone as well.

my called id photos automatically transfered from my 8125 to my Pearl when i switched. I am assuming outlook synced them.

I used the "Switch Device" from the BBy manager, but no pics came over. What did you use?

Thanks!

I used to have a Treo and the issue with contact pictures depends on how you assigned a contact their picture, as there are 2 ways.

1- while editing the contact, you take the picture from within the address book
2- you take the picture normally and then assign that picture to a contact

I believe option 1 has no way of retrieving the pictures, as they somehow get embedded as part of the address book. Option 2 would transfer the pictures as the pictures are normal pictures, not just contact ones.
