Bold 9700 Locking Issues
Hey all,
I have owned a Bold 9700 for about 2 weeks now and last night the lock button (top left) stopped working. When I press it, nothing happens and nothing locks. The only way it locks now is by timing out or by putting it in its holster. Another thing I've noticed, but right from the first time I turned it on: holding the mute button does not put my phone into standby as it does on other Bold 9700s. My girlfriend has a 9700 and this function works on her phone, as I think it is supposed to based on what I've read in forums. Although I don't think it should make a difference, I should say that she is with a different service provider (Telus) than me (Rogers). Any ideas or advice on either of these issues would be much appreciated. -Daniel |
mute key to go into standby was a glitch that was removed in newer OS releases.
there is no fix since it has been fixed, unfortunatly some people liked the glitch. you can use a password to lock the device and use a hot key "K" to lock it with stinsondog tips to enable keyboard shortcuts. Blackberry Tips & Tricks from the Mods according to this KB it was intended only for track ball devices.
