Balsillie Announces the Release of Seven New Devices in the next few Months

During RIM's annual general meeting that took place in Waterloo, ON on Tuesday, Jim Balsillie announced that seven new BlackBerry devices would be coming to market over the next few months in rapid succession. Obviously we all already know about the Bold 9900 and the Torch 2 but, I feel as though this might be them hinting at a new Curve or Curve Touch as a cheaper alternative to the new Torch. On another note, it was also firmly stated that the upper-management of Research In Motion would be staying intact for the time being, contrary to the recent demands of angry investors.

SOURCE: I was there.

P.S. First post/thread, glad to be a part of the community.

So, um, why the thumbs down icon?

That's a very good question, I honestly have no idea how that got there.

Also, it's an old story. There's already a thread on it.

It was the first of their meetings that I had gone to, I thought it was very interesting. However, I found it to be pretty intriguing with the amount of people that were talking badly about the company, I presumed there would have be more supporters there. I mean I understand that they haven't been in the same shape as they have been in the past and that their stock has dropped 50% since Q1 but I feel as though they still have a lot of things going for them and big plans for the future.

Reminds me of the famous Mark Twain quote "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated". Blackberry will be fine and their new lineup of phones is very exciting.

I couldn't agree with you more, this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion.
