Yes, the simulators for the 8700 are under v4.1.

...along with every other handheld on 4.1 - just download the package for whichever version OS you want to develop on (likely .286 to be safe) and go from there.

On your physical BlackBerry or on the simulator you were previously questioning about?

if you mean on the simulataor, you'll need to download the 4.1 JDE and start up/configure the MDS Simulator as well. once its running, the device simulator should pick up the connection.

You no longer have to download the entire BlackBerry JDE to get the Email and MDS Services simulator.

error

I start MDS before run BB Simulator, but still get "unable to connect" error

do you know why?

thanks

Are you behind a proxy server? If so, you have to modify the settings for the MDS simulator. See the instructions: How To Congifure the MDS Simulator to Work Behind a Proxy.

in my rimpublic.property file, add my network info
application.handler.http.proxyHost=proxy.ohmynetwo rk.net
application.handler.http.proxyPort=8080

there is no username and password for my proxy; don't see that on my IE setting.
When I started MDS, the command box shows up and goes away. Is that right? Yes, still get "unable to connect" error
thanks for your help, I'm appreciated

It is normal that the MDS simulator opens a command window and then closes it. BUT, a second command window should open up in its place.

Make sure you have your JAVA_HOME and PATH environment variables set correctly.

What version of java are you using?

tfly 04-03-2006 12:45 PM

it goes so fast; can't capture the whole thing.
what's this mean?
