Received my 9900
Liking it so far although for some reason I can't get it to connect to my wireless. My home network had WEP for the last two years along with a Mac filter. Added the mac address, and could not get it to connect to the wireless. So then I switched to a Wap2 with AES and it still doesn't connect.
I have a tmobile plan with unlimited calls, txts, and data along with tethering. It says H+ on the mobile wireless connection. I am not able to use the browser even on the tmobile plan ...... Any help greatly appreciated. |
Re: Received my 9900
You need a specific BlackBerry Data plan i order to take advantage of your 9900.
The BB will not connect to WiFi without a BlackBerry data plan. |
Re: Received my 9900
Okay so now my blackberry is working on the Tmobile data plan. I can pull the browser up and it gets web pages.
What I am not able to do is tether my laptop to the phone and get web access. Any one now how to do this? |
Re: Received my 9900
You have to add tethering to your plan from T-Mobile. And that's only if they allow it.

Re: Received my 9900
Tethering is on my plan. when I talk with Tmobile they are telling me that my unlocked blackberry needs to be configured for the tethering, even though my unlocked 9630 works just fine ......

Re: Received my 9900
Why didn't you just buy a T-Mobile branded 9900? Seriously.
|
Re: Received my 9900
Because I bought an unlocked phone so that I can switch carriers when my plan gets to its expiration date.

Re: Received my 9900
Well I hate to break it to yah ..... but yesterday this phone started working fine. It has data and after uninstalling and re installing the blackberry desktop software the tethering started working fine.
But now the 9900 has an issue were it sends a txt in the middle of composing when the "del" key is hit ....... So I may have gotten a bum phone (n) |

Re: Received my 9900
Look at my scenario. My wife and I only use cell phones. We each had blackberry 9630's on ATT. Back in January we decided to move over to Tmobile with our unlocked 9630's, at that time I had no need for a smartphone was happy with my 9630's. We signed up for a 2 year contract with Tmobile.
Then I get hired here at a company that wanted me to have a smartphone under their verizon account. So I call the rep and tell him how I am a fat finger dude and need something with a Qwerty keyboard. So he sends me the Q10, which is a piece of junk. I approached my work about just letting me use my personal phone under the existing Tmobile plan and they could just reimburse me on a month to month basis. They agreed, but only under the stipulation that I upgrade from my 9630 to something that would have data and tethering capability. So my investigation began and I figured that the 9900 brought the best of both worlds to me. I like using unlocked phones so that when the Tmobile plan ends I have the "option" of moving to another network with out having to change phones. Quote:
