Transferring BB data to my new replacement phone

I just received a replacement phone for my blackberry curve 8900 yesterday and just backed up the old device with the BB Desktop Manager. How do I transfer this data to my new phone? Thanks.

Is your new phone a BlackBerry? If so, just do a backup of your old device with BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You don't even need to sync to Outlook. Just create a backup file and save it somewhere where you'll easily find it. The default location is best because Desktop Manager will easily find it when you restore your new BlackBerry from that file. Data (contacts, calendar, etc.) and settings will all transfer over.

If your new phone is not a BlackBerry, how to move your info will depend on what model that new phone is. Or if you can do it at all.

Yes it's a replacement blackberry same model. I backed up the old one and restored it to the new one, but it 'failed' to transfer over certain things (ie SMS messages) even when I only selected certain things when I restored instead of transferring everything. How do I get it to transfer over?

Use the Device Switch Wizard in BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

The device switch wizard works great.
