curve 93xx scroll button not working

Hi all, my bb curve 93?? - the main button, i.e. the square button under the screen in the middle has stopped working. If you slide across it no scrolling happens. If you click it nothing happens. Tired off/on, battery out/in again, no better. While I think what to do, I have found utube clips showing how to navigate and get things done without this button. Actually, apologies to the people who made those utube clips but I found video clips to be maybe not the ideal way to explain this kind of thing - anyone know of a link to the same sort of information but in text please? I got dizzy rewinding the clips backwards and forwards :-) TIA, Terry.

Unless you plan to replace the trackpad very, very cheaply, the best choice is to buy a new device. Navigating a BBOS device without a trackpad is very inconvenient.

Re: curve 93xx scroll button not working

Thanks fourstringfuror. I'm between houses atm so to complete my re-location I need to be on the phone a lot. Only got intermittent access to internet, so yes I'll get a new phone, but it would be useful to get at my last calls list and some contacts. My BB works just fine as a phone - but you have know the numbers you need to call :-) Thanks again - Terry

Re: curve 93xx scroll button not working

I played around with swapping sim between the bb and another (nokia) phone to see if calls received. Then swapped them back. A bit later while still trying to navigate without the scroll button, it started working again !! Elsewhere on the web I've seen someone suggest removing the battery *and* the sim and putting them back as a fix. Seems unlikely. However on this model the scroll button is exactly opposite the sim location. Maybe fiddling with the sim pushes a loose contact or something - don't know. Thanks anyway - Terry.
