Battery charging
Hi, everyone!
A battery-related question here. I'm not sure this is device-specific, but I'll give it a go anyway. I wonder when I have to charge my battery. Somewhere I've read it isn't good, if the battery goes below 20% often. Does this mean that once it hits 20% I need to plug it in? Also, is it damaging if I leave it on after it's fully charged? I like overnight charging, but am unsure whether this will have negative effects on my long-term battery life. P.S. My Curve is 9320! Posted in the wrong place :S Thanks in advance! |
Re: Battery charging
Lithium ion batteries tend to have longer life and better performance over that life if they are topped off. There are too many variables to say what the user is going to see exactly under the user's conditions of use. You need to use the device the way you need to. But to get the most you can get out of the battery, avoid high and low temperature exptremes (don't freeze and don't leave in a hot car) and charge the battery when you have the opportunity. Avoid letting the battery get to the point the indicator turns yellow or red, if you can. Charging at night when you sleep, every night, would be a good first step.
