Public Contact Sync not the same after upgrading to Exchange 2010

So last week we migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 and it went pretty smooth. However I have just noticed there are two things now going on with public contact sync that was not happening before...advice is welcome!

#1. The public contacts are all on my phone now, as they were before, however now I can edit and delete them. Before, all of the public contact were not editable, which is the way it should be. Any idea why this has changed?

#2. All of the contacts in the GAL (our employees basically), do not have an email address listed on my phone. I verified in Outlook that they do in fact have an email address that is pulled from the GAL, but its not making it to my phone. All of the other info is.

If anyone has any ideas, especially to #1, I would greatly appreciate it.

What version BES are you on?

can anyone edit them or just you?

No email address, do you get pin info for BB users?

BES version 5.0.1.58

It turns out anyone now has the option to Edit or Delete, however, after testing, it only appears to change the contacts on the device itself, it doesn't sync the changes to the public contacts. That is not as bad as i thought, but before we migrated, we did not even have the menu option to edit or delete public contacts.

For the users in the GAL, we only see name, title, company, phone numbers and category. No email address or BB pin.

Ok this is driving me bonkers. I manually went into the Public Contacts and deleted/readded each user's email address from the GAL and now they all show up. However something is still not right. All of the contacts appear as if they were basically in my local contacts. Before we migrated to Exchange 2010, we had Exchange 2007 and in that environment, I had my local contacts and the public contacts (called Interworks Contacts). Before the migration, if I opened my address book and highlighted a public contact, there was not even the option in the menu to edit or delete. Also, I had the menu option "View Folder", where I could then pick Interworks Contacts or Desktop and only see those particular contacts. Now I do not have a "View Folder" option and I can edit and delete contacts that are public contacts (even though the change does not appear to replicate to the server)...

When I pull up a public contact thats in the GAL (myself for example) I do not see any BB PIN info, but if I do a Lookup and type my name in, it pulls up my name, email address and PIN.

Any ideas?
