I've ordered various 8700 OEM parts from them before. They shipped quickly and the parts were perfect! Much less expensive than Promobility.

Totally awesome... $19 for the cover is pretty reasonable...

Wish they had the full housing

Instructions how to remove face plate lense?

I ordered a new face plate because I cracked my lense when I dropped it (worse day of my life) haha So I was curious, does the ordered part come with instructions on how to remove the face plate lense with out damaging any part of the phone? If not do you know where I can obtain directions on how to safely remove it?

No instructions came with my 8700 parts.

I haven't seen an 8300 disassembly instructions yet, but the pics of the sides seem to indicate they're only fastened by two screws and some tabs.

I ordered both accessories and neither came woth instructions. The site has since added full housing for 29.99 in vodafone, att and movistar variations.

Wirelessly posted (Mandizzle's Curve: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

I use the Rogers Curve and wanted to order a full housing just in case. Was wondering if there are any differences between the housing pieces other than the colours and also the branding.

thetonyclifton 07-05-2007 01:58 PM

what are the differences in housing I cant tell from pics

Mandizzle 07-05-2007 07:05 PM

Basically just the lens colour is different on a couple and also the carrier names across the bottom of the faceplate.

I'm going to when I can actually buy a replacement housing AND the battery door. I haven't seen the battery door online yet.

I have looked everywhere for instructions on how to change the lens on a BB8300. Does anyone know where i could get the instructions?

pspiegel 07-08-2007 06:11 PM

AT&T Blackberry Curve Battery Cover

Hey, all! I just broke the tab on my bberry battery door! Bummer! does anyone know where I can buy one? I tried the CNN outfit in Hong Kong but they don't have one yet.
Any ideas, O BBerry Gurus?

Thanks

Rob

I have ordered from them several times with no problems.

It is pretty straight forward to take apart if you have a size 5 torx and a plastic case opener tool. The tricky part is peeling the faceplate away from the screen, which has some foam tape to seal the screen to the lens.

There is an instructional video on youtube here:
YouTube - Blackberry Curve 8300 Screen Removal & Take Apart

I ordered the dark grey faceplate and put it on my silver Curve.

Broken Battery Door

mdaoudi 10-02-2007 10:29 AM

I just saw the battery door on the official bberry accessories site:
Available on 10/23/2007 for 15$

I also emailed these guys to ask if they're getting in a T-Mobile branded housing (they have the others listed in this thread, and also faceplates that don't include the branded piece at the bottom center of the Curve). Reply back was they they're expecting it, but don't have it just yet.

may I ask where you purchased the dark gray faceplate? It looks very striking.

sam_nj 10-29-2007 07:44 PM

So to replace the 8300 lens do you actually need to open the unit or can you pry it off from the front?
