8700 network time fault (fixed !)

Hopefully this post help some else who experiences the same clock problem.

My ancient (but still great) 8700 blackberry developed a glitch where the clock time ran slow even though the network and blackberry times were still fine. The handset clock appeared to have stopped updating?? I had done the usual remove-the-battery-trick but problem persisted. I looked through the various forums to see if there was any solutions. I did not find any, but I did read in one thread that when you take the battery out you should wait at least 30 seconds before re-installing. I though this was worth a shot as I knew I had only waited a few seconds before re-installing the battery.

Anyways, amazingly this cured the clock fault !! yay !. I am back in business. Good old blackberry, keep on rolling on...

Yes, 30+ seconds is important. For what it's worth, in some rare instances it may take a second or third battery pull to correct an issue. It's been known to happen.

The 8700 was a great device. It's in my top three.
