I set it up with my account earlier today and have synced a few times, it's been great so far. I blogged my initial impressions at:

not verizon

vzw 8830 sync works amazingly.

Google Apps sync status:

It seems to work Bi-Directionally for your personal calendar:

It seems to work Uni-Directionally (Gcal to Berry) for group calendars

Anyone else have similar results?

It doesn't show up under the Calendar menu?

cain8885 12-12-2007 05:40 PM

in the help section

the google site indicates.

Day-to-Day Use

Google Sync is configured to synchronize with the default calendar of your Google Account. You can select other calendars to be downloaded as well, but you can't add events to these calendars from the handheld. The Google Sync menu includes the following screens:

so yes it appears as what you found with group calenders is correct

update2- created an even in gcal, it syncs to the bb. deleted on the bb it deletes on gcal. i can't get my exisiting events in my bb to show up in gcal...

I created events in GCal and I synced them to the BB. All events show up in BB. I also created an event from BB, and it uploaded to GCal and I can see it in the GCal.

Then I deleted the event I just created from BB, it deleted the same one from GCal.

So, I would say the sync works 2 ways and it works very well.

if anyone has a curve 8320, could they try to run this in "wifi only" mode and see if it still syncs?

kdog1176 12-12-2007 07:35 PM

It's not syncing existing calendar entries from my BB to the empty Google Calendar.

I can't get existing BB events to show up in gcal either.

And why is it that you have to delete all synchronized events (from the BB) to log out of google sync?

Not sure about that one. Maybe it's there to prevent you from logging into another account and cross pollinating your different google calendars.

That's my biggest concern. What if I log out by accident, say I need to do a battery pull? Will all my events go bye-bye? On both BB and Google? Too many unknowns for me, I'll wait for them to iron out a few of those issues before I start using it full time.

I'm of the same mind. Do we know how much battery drain this has yet? This will be a great app when it matures a bit.

Here's another thought...... if you mark a calendar entry on the BB as private will it still sync to the google calendar?

TRIdad 12-12-2007 10:10 PM

I only get unidirectional synch (GCal --> BB) too.

could this be an ATT thing?
