I've spent over 20 years perfecting this design. No plastic parts, no swing check valves, no springs. I’ve tested these components and I’ve seen them all fail after days, weeks, or months. That won’t do. This pump is built to last decades.
With over 30 million cycles a year, durability isn't optional, it’s essential. My original model ran nonstop for over 20 years (over 600 million cycles!) before I upgraded it not because it failed, but because I made it better.
This isn't a mass produced gadget for the weekend warrior. Each pump involves substantial machine work, especially the precision pump head which is the heart of this ram pump. It's crafted to be passed down to your grandkids. I don’t believe in planned obsolescence. I built it to withstand the hundreds of millions of pulses it will have to endure decade after decade.
Performance Specs:
With 5 feet of fall, a 2" main line and 60 foot 2" drive pipe, expect 480–600 gallons/day pumped to 65–70 ft elevation. I run 2 pumps in tandem and have averaged over 3/4 gallon per minute into a 1500-gallon tank for over two decades. Your results may vary according to these specs and your application.Construction:
Stainless steel version is constructed with a stainless steel pump manifold and braces with a brass pump head with stainless steel and brass internal components with mild steel concrete mounts Galvanized version has a galvanized pump manifold and the rest is the same as the stainless steel version. Designed to be mounted on concrete for rigidity (imagine a hammer striking 30 million times a year in the exact same spot) Ram pumps have a habit of beating themselves apart over time if not properly made and solidly braced.
What’s Included:
10-year warranty on the pump head, manifold and bracing (excluding 2 gallon pressure tank). 10+ years of consumables (O-rings (4), valve guides (3). These components can be made or purchased at auto parts and hardware stores. Thumb drive with detailed assembly, tuning, and maintenance videos,including my freeze-proofing method as freeze damage is not covered under this warranty. A stand pipe is required. I include a video of my standpipe system and explain the variable ideas on how to build and install one properly. Ram pumps require the right property setup and solid mounting...don’t skip this!
