Tether an 8830 with US Cellular service?

Good day,
I am so new to Blackberrys that I dont even have one yet. I have a Motorola Q with Verizon Service. I am moving to an area that does not have good Verizon coverage and I am going back to US Cellular, which I had with great sucess in Customer service and coverage for the prior 8 years. I was looking to terminate my Verizon contract this Saturday or Monday (18 Feb 2008) and get a Blackberry 8830 with US Cellular the same day.
I can tether my Q to my laptop with PDAnet. I have been doing searches today to see if I can tether my 8830 to my laptop and I have been finding either no, I cant without the additional monthly service, or I can, but all other carriers are listed with the exception of US Cellular. So I am not sure if I can tether the 8830 first of all with US Celluar, much less without paying their fee.
I am not trying to jack the system. I travel occasionally, and I was looking for a one time fee program to tether, like i have with PDAnet, as I would like to make airport time more productive. I work from the home so tethering is not needed there and I usually stay in hotels with free internet. So, really, its only the times that I am in the airports or in areas without WiFi that I would need it. I wont be doing large files and I doubt my usage will come across the radar's of anybody at US Cellular.
PLUS, US Cellular seems to be charging $60 a month.....yes, a month, for the tethering service. No f-ing way..........
Any tips, direction, assistance?
Thanks in advance.
