i haven't yet got the blackberry service however when i talked to a guy at t mobile he said i should not need a plan to send or receive pictures is this true if so does anyone know how to tweak my blackberry so it will work.

You will not be able to send MMS (pictures) without a Blackberry data plan.

If you have a messaging plan and don't have a BlackBerry data plan you can ask them to enable the BlackBerry Feature Enabler. This will allow you to send MMS messages without a BlackBerry data plan. This is only for T-Mobile.
