Default usage of location tracking

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

in my BES I find a policy Items, where I can turn on the location tracking. I assume, that the BB with a gps enabled, will report it's location back to the BES, but what to do with these information? How / wehre can I see where the user is? Do I need additional software?

Thanks a lot in advance

have you searched this forum as I'm sure this topic came up on here about 2-3 months ago.

Hi

yes, I've seen this, but what the heck can I do with these DB entries? Is there any kind of plugin which maps it into google maps, or similar?

It's not free, but TeleNav makes a great product, I believe one of your areas is using it with their sales managers.

Hi, I am wondering the same thing and I did search around and have not found much. Is there an application I would need to be able to view the location? I've seen one mention of TeleNav but will that work in with the BES to track locations on a map? I am running BES 4.1.6. I enabled it on a test device but I am not sure where I can even view the information.
Thanks

I am planning on including this into BerryStats as soon as I can get a device in my grubby hands that I can test (I don't want to use it on my users here just yet). My contract is up in November with Sprint, so it will probably be after that.

*Unless someone else would like to do this for me and we can consolidate the code?

In any case, it would be a very cool addition.

I did this write up a few months ago. Nothing has changed as far as the OS is concerned so it's still doesn't work consistantly, or even as advertised:
