Default Multi-Network Instructions

Please Login to Remove!

1. Install Google Talk on your BB.

2. Install Miranda (Jabber Client) on your system.
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/m...3.exe?download
3.Unzip the following archive to the Miranda directory under Program Files.
http://www.lastwebpage.de/pictureuploads/ssldll.rar
4.Setup Miranda to connect to the Jabber network using the following instructions.
http://www.google.com/support/talk/b...y?answer=24885
5. Connect to Jabber in Miranda.

6. Once connected click on the crown icon at the top of the screen.

7. Select "Jabber", then select "Agents..."

8. Enter jabber.anywise.com into the "Jabber Server" box and click "Browse"

9. You should now see a list of services. Select the network you would like to connect to.

10. Click "Register".

11. Enter your login for that network and click "Register" again.

12. If you receive a successful registration your contacts from the new network should start showing up in Miranda and on your BB if it is logged in.

13. Repeat for each network.

Hope this helps.

The first method using Miranda was the easiest way for me to connect.

When using Psi, I would always get stuck at xxx8220;Next, go to Service Discovery and browse the Jabber server ursine.ca and youxxx8217;ll see the transports availablexxx8221; but none of the transports registrations were enable for me to click.

((EDIT)) Herexxx8217;s a backup link for the ssldll files. RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace

((EDIT2)) ssldll - Upload and share .rar files

A couple things I don't like about this method is 1) any contact 'denied' from the handheld (let's say you don't want a cluttered list of contacts) is automatically blocked on the MSN client; and 2) if you're Google Talk name and MSN display names differ, it automatically changes your display name on MSN to the Google Talk name.

I posted this in another thread so sorry for the dupl. but there seems to be too many threads on the topic.

How does a person go about deleting the multiple networks on GT if you just wanted to return to the default clients? There are several things i don't like now that i have used it for several days and as i try to return things to default i am seeing they are not responding correctly. GT is still controlling all other clients.

again sorry if this is the wrong thread. (Admin feel free to move or delete)

thx

I thought so too, but that did not seem to work. I'm still waiting just a bit longer to see if things catch up. I removed them on Sunday afternoon but as of today @ 2pm central time it has not worked. I'm still digging and will post if i find a fix.

I just logged into GMail (via IE/PC) and clicked on Show All (or directly to Contacts) and removed the two networks - aim and msn) from there. Logging back into Google Talk nets a lot of Unsubscribed contacts (from GMail) but none login.

That worked, thanks. I of course then deleted all those contacts added by the other 3 networks. So far that seems to have worked.

Very nice, thx

Try using AIM and Yahoo transports on a different jabber server. I went through about a half-dozen before I found one that seemed stable for the transports I needed.

You mind sharing, with the rest of us, your findings of what server is more stable?

I found managing the Jabber stuff on Miranda IM works okay. But PSI allows be to be logged in on the transports simutainiously on the desktop and BB.

AIM/MSN always scream another user is logged in elsewhere when using either Miranda or Trillian(Basic) and the BB at the same time.

It's a learning experience, that's for sure! But nice to be able to run GoogleTalk on the BB and getting the other IMs to work. All without having to set the APN (cha-ching) in the TCP settings on the BB.

I'm using aim.jabber.anywise.com and msn.jabber.anywise.com. The AIM transport goes up and down, but has been improving (Sometimes when I set availability as AWAY, AIM tunes in!). The MSN transport sticks.
