Default Redirector software help needed ASAP

Please Login to Remove!

Hello.
I have one day to get this BB 7100 working via the desktop redirector software that is installed on this bosses machine, I have just installed the software, but how do I get all his email from his outlook onto the black berry ? and then how do I get the redirector software to work, I have the wireless turned on, the computer is switched on but I cant see a way of making them talk to each other.
The Redirector software shows as 'running'
I have attached a screen shot of the software.

Thanks

Darnel

Try regenerating the security key manually 3 times in the desktop manager program. Do not hit apply or ok until you have generated it 3 times. The other thing I would do is reset the BB. Take the battery out then place it in again. Are you able to send from the BB or do you get a red X?

Are you using Exchange as your e-mail system?
Redirector will not send the existing contents of the Inbox to the BlackBerry, it just should send future incoming e-mail.
And it is the worst way to redirect BlackBerry e-mail.

yes we use an exchange,
I have regenerated the keys - still not working
I have also wiped the BB and its still not working

After I have installed the software onto the computer should I have to do anything else like activate the redirection ? or should it just work 'out of the box'?

thanks again

Works out of the box.
Install redirector. Make sure the PC is turned on and logged in to the corporate network.
Connect the handheld to make sure they recongmize each other.

Have you started Outlook on the PC running redirector? What happens when you send a message to the e-mail account? Does it appear in Outlook?

Are you getting GPRS at the top for the BB? Be sure that the provider has also activated a data plan for the account.

I am getting the GPRS signal (full strength)

PC is turned on and I have synced the callender and contacts folder without a problem.
Outlook is running on the PC, I have sent an email from the PC to the email address, it appears in outlook but not on the BB in the 'messages folder'

If I create an email on the BB and try to send it the email just appears in the 'messages' folder on the BB but does not get sent or received. It has a Red Cross next to the unit. When I click to resend the message is still there but it has a clock symbol next to the email.

Thanks

Darnel, re-read NJBlackBerry's first post in this thread. He's not kidding. Redirector should work, but it is not the best way.

If you're not running a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), the best way to set these things up is through your providers Blackberry Internet Server (BIS). Do a search on your provider and BIS to find the one you're looking for. From there you can set up a BIS account for the user and have that account check for messages every few minutes.

Or, you can forward a copy of the user's mail from the Exchange server over to the BIS account you created. I have used all three methods (redirector, pull email, and forwarding), and I prefer the forwarding method over the others. It is much more reliable, and the messages are delivered in an almost real-time basis.

Good luck!

If you open the message that has the red X on it on the BB what is the error?
