That's certainly happening at our company and pretty fast. There was a huge move when iPhone 4s was release. A recent comment from a user who moved to Android was pretty interesting and he was not criticizing any device.

This certainly looks like the end to BB's very soon, atleast at our company.

If the users in your company think the blackberry is not a smartphone I can understand the move to android. The company will at some point realize there is very limited security outside of a blackberry and may If the twitter crowd executives realize the problem they may force most back to the BB for secure email and access to internal servers. Large company are still concerned with security although less and less.

Would be interesting to know how large your company is and if they deal with cell serivce as a business.

We do not support android. too much malware, too easy to root and not way to wipe reliable with out a 3rd party tool since we are on an older version of exchange. I also dont want t learn a new device that is so fragmented with its OS.

we do allow iphone but limited support is given since the will not buy me one out of contract to keep in my desk drawer and there is an istore near most users

More than likely we'll be down to just overseas users for Blackberry very soon. The execs want something new, bigger, and faster and RIM just doesn't have it. Everyone who gets an iPhone or iPad absolutely loves it. The only thing I could always sell with RIM was reliability and that's been taking a hit recently.

I agree that Android is too fragmented so we're discouraging it, but it seems like every day, more and more users are asking for anything but Blackberry. I'd love to upgrade my 9700, but I'm not paying all that money on a short term device, so I'm going to have to make a choice pretty soon.

I absolutely agree to the security concerns on other devices and this is not a good option.

We are about 2500 users and about 1400 devices (less than 600 BB's remain).

The device change is not coming from Top --> Down, but it's the users who decide and Corp provides the service to connect the devices. Lately, it's pretty rare for someone to purchase a BB and ask for a profile.

My managers have read the fire and brimstone articles about RIM lately and want to change to iPhone. I will probably have little say in the matter.

We're making the move to iPhone right now. That doesn't mean we're going away from BlackBerry. We're just opening it up to give the end users more of a device choice.

Since we're a Domino shop, we are using Lotus Traveler to synch and secure the iOS devices. Seems to be working quite well.

After meeting with the managers yesterday, I won a 'stay' on keeping BlackBerry as the standard device for most (only Marketing folks will be allowed iPhones, and only if their job requires it...which they all bullsh!t about that they NEED one).

So...same as it has been.

We are using BoxTone to secure the iOS devices....pretty slick.

Pretty much the same boat here.

Upper management is not keen on the idea just yet of moving away from BlackBerry, but consumerization has really begun to set in. Being on GroupWise, this isn't the easiest of needs to meet, but we have done so with Novell Data Synchronizer and NotifyMDM to apply policies.

I work for a large high tech company that was one of the first to implement BES. At its height we had well over 15k users on them (mix of BYOD and company paid). Almost every employee now has a device (iPhone, BB, or some like me both) and the number of BES seats is declining rapidly.

I have yet to see anyone around me renew a company paid device with a BB, or bring in a BB as a BYOD, all are moving to iPhone. Due to security issues, no Android allowed though.

I'm not in IT, but they tell me that with MDM, they are able to support iPhones as well as they ever did with BB on BES.

All the new internal mobile applications are being written for iPhone/iPad users, not for BB.

Also, rapidly increasing number of iPads on board as well (on EAS)

The hospital I work for are in the process of adding iPhone devices managed by Zenprise. It has been rough getting it up and running, but we are finally all setup. I can really tell how lacking these devices are compared to BB's. I am curious to give RIM's Fusion a try in the upcoming months.
