Exclamation Rescheduled: RIM Scheduled Outage March 29, 2008

Reported by -= Dataoutages.com =-

During the normally scheduled window (2a - 6a EDT)

A full 4 hour outage is scheduled for all BIS & BES users in the Americas for RIM database maintenance.
Any BES connected to srp.na.blackberry.net is expected to be impacted.
No mail / activations will be possible during this outage.
This is a 100% outage

i wonder if i should cancel our servers nightly reboot for that night seeing as how they might freak out if they cant find the noc like i freak out if i cant find the reeses cereal at the grocery store.

Hi,

Where does dataoutages get their info? I am just wondering because I can't find any info about this on RIM's website, and my carrier hasn't heard about the outage either.

If you call BlackBerry support at (877)255-2377 they have details about it on the recording before you get to the menu prompts.

One way is if you have TSupport Level 4+ they will email you about outages. I don't know the normal cost is, RIM says call for price. CDW says $50,000. That may just be the program fee, then there is the server and device fees.

Since the list is a community driven list, a lot of reports come from members of the lists that we run more then anything. The BB-Outage list is fully moderated so anything that's not related to an outage is discarded and is never seen. Our membership is growing at a very nice rate and to the best of our knowledge, we haven't posted anything that's been wrong yet.
