Default Handheld End Of Life

Is there a reference guide anywhere that lists the end of life for the various BlackBerry handheld devices? I'd like to know which devices I need to start rolling out of my enterprise. Thanks in advance.

These popular BlackBerry® devices started it all, helping make the entire BlackBerry family successful. Although they are no longer in production, they may still be available from some resellers.

This thread will help you more than you might learn from RIM.

It's not so much they go end of life, but RIM publishes when they stop making OS updates for them. Usually after that the carriers will stop selling them so when the channels sell out it's end of life.

Being a BES admin we only support devices that are OS 4.1 or higher.

Thanks. That was helpful, however, I'm looking for something that is looking forward into the future. For example, how much longer will the 7100i be supported? I'm just wondering if there's a roadmap out there which shows the life cycle of some of the older (7xxx series) devices.

Again, that thread is the best place to ask that question. You'll learn more here than elsewhere, unless you are a top tier RIM client.

JSanders - Sorry for the confusion. I actually posted my reply before I read yours. Thanks for the info.

Latest file but it looks like for the 7100i OS 4.1 was the last update.

Rim will still support the device, if the os releases have stopped and if the carrier have stopped selling.
If your carrier will not help support it, tell them to push it up to RIM support, they will help with any issues.
