I'm so glad I stumbled across this thread. I have a WRT54GL and I, too have been using alternate firmware called "Tomato". Very similar to DD-WRT in most respects. I've messed with QoS a bit and also boosted my Xmit power to 70. I looked into the settings mentioned here but I'm better with the inner workings of my engine than the inner workings of this router.

Since you mentioned this, John, I wanted to tell you I saw a picture of some guy who carved up his router a little to add a fan for cooling...
Well, I'm going to load the new 8320 OS and then start noodling with my wireless settings in this router!
