No way! The Pearl is a svelte beauty ... the 8800 (like the 8700/7290 etc) are wide-bodies by comparison. I actually PREFER the Suretype keyboard ... if/when there is a Pearl II w/ WiFI (or even better - Wimax) then maybe.

I don't know yet. I have to check it out first. I do like the full size keyboard though.

I would do it so fast that I would not need to think about it. I am already back into my 8700c from my 8100c cause I hate the keyboard and verticle screen.

Give me full QWERTY! No camera please!

Unless BB's Wifi implementation is better than other mobile devices I will be sticking with the Pearl. Wifi on phones has been average at best for me. Performance has been shotty as the power requirements for decent reception just aren't there, and battery life is totally terrible. But who knows, maybe BB knows how to do it right.

Yeah...see that's the problem w/blackjack on 3G...sucks down the battery life and they issue you an extra batt. right off from jump street........'course wifi is not my main use probably just during class time...so battery life may not be a big deal IF the WiFi can be turned off.......if not then this could be a deal breaker....thanks for the many insights....the batt. life for wifi use was an interesting angle.......

thanks........so many toys so little budget.......lol...

With the two different keyboards you can't really compare the Pearl and the 8800.

I'm a full keyboard guy... 8800 hurry up and get here!

Unless the "Pearl" trackball takes a dive (which I see as the biggest weak-point in the Pearl), then I'll think about the 8800. But until then, I'm loving the Pearl.

One of the main reasons why I bought the Pearl is, because it actually looks like a phone--not a notepad (like all of the other bulky/wide BB). Looking at the pics of the 8800, it really does look like "another BB" (although slimmer).
