If you're looking for a good AIM program, check out BeejiveIM/JiveTalk. It's an all-in-one messenger(offers multiple clients, like aim/msn/yahoo/etc)...and is probably the best messenger app out right now. I use it constantly, and doubt I'll ever switch to anything else.

It does cost a one-time fee, but I honestly felt it was worth it. Just do a quick search and you'll see all the threads about it.

I went to BlackBerry and searched for AOL and they sent me a link to load on my Pearl. It seems to work fine. That wasn't available a number of months ago, as at one point it was only for Sprint.

Check it out yet??

Best AIM program out right now, in my opinion. Countless others will agree.

They offer a free 30 day trial. After that you can buy 1 of 2 different licenses...you'd have to check out the webpage for the details on those. Both licenses are for unlimited use and downloads.

One license is binded to your phone/PIN and can't be used with any other phone. This means if you get a new BB, you have to purchase another license. The other license is binded to you, and I *think* you can download/install the program on any phone you have that is compatible.

I just got off the phone with tmobile and RIM because I had the same problem. RIM says its becuase the software version im running which is 4.5.0.69 is not supported by tmobile.. In order for me to use AIM i would have to downgrade...Screw that i like 4.5 tmobile only supports 4.2.11.7 or something like that he said oh well OZ messaging it is

I second that... JiveTalk is awesome!! Most impressive is how it doesn't seem to affect battery life, and seems to always be connected!!

It is easily the best AIM software, plus it has msn/gmail/yahoo/etc...I love it.

It could affect battery life, though. It runs strictly on data, not your text messaging. Battery life when logged on jivetalk can differ from person to person based on many factors such as reception, buddy list count, how many accounts you're logged on, etc. The more it transfers data, the more it could drain your battery. A few people have complained of it constantly transferring data and cutting battery life down a bit, but I'm talking 1 or 2 people from what I've seen so far.

Personally, with a buddy list on AIM of about 100 users...not logged on anything but AIM...I notice no difference in battery usage.
