Question How to tell if 8320 has been unlocked?

Please Login to Remove!

I recently relocated from the US back to Norway and acquired unlocking codes from T-Mobile. I followed the unlocking steps and when I put in my norwegian sim card, I get no network connection. Thus this makes me wonder if the unit hasn't been unlocked.

Is there a way to confirm whether a phone has been unlocked?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card

Type in m e p d on the keypad. (You won't see it being typed.)

On the resulting screen:
Network = Disabled means the phone is unlocked.

Thumbs up Thx

Awesome, the Network shows up as disabled. Many thanks for the link.

Now I just need to figure out why my carrier in Norway doesn't support BlackBerry...

Even if your carrier doesn't support BB, the device should still work as a phone if the SIM is good. Have you checked your SIM in another phone?

So how do you unlock your phone if you are with t-mobile? Are there any pros or cons to unlocking?
