Unhappy Need Help with Blackberry 8900

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a blackberry 8900 on ebay. I tried to set up my email and it is requesting a username and password. The previous owner said that I shouldnt need his to set up my email. I had the phone unlocked to use with a different carrier. When the phone is wiped, is there a generic username and password that I can use since it is requesting a username and password and I do not yet have one?

Welcome to the forums.

No, there is no generic username/password. You will need to have the previous owner contact their carrier and have them release their BIS account to that PIN number.

Take a look here:

you need to create your own login for the BIS site then for your carrier. your carriers data support team can help you on this.

If the device's PIN is associated the the previous owner's BIS account, this will not work.

It is worth a shot.

OP, where are you located? T-Mobile in in various countries.

the account may be cancelled, but if you get in contact with tmo's DATA SUPPORT/TSD not customer care, the actual blackberry internet solution site is probably registered to that pin. it will still be registered even if the account is "closed or cancelled". this will stay active forever until the user decides to cancel it or change devices.
