i can install a particular theme OTA with no problem but when i try to install the same them via desktop manager it doesnt work. says something like "no new applications were found for your device" after i browse and select the file to be installed.

Could be that you haven't followed the suggestions in the FAQ on just that issue?

Install your current HH OS to the PC, usually solves it for most.

The OTA file extension is different from the Desktop Manager file extension. OTA .jar or .cod, and Desktop Manager is .alx. Check that you have the right file downloaded.

ah yes... another spin on the "search before you post" comment. imagine if everyone searched and found their answers on their own instead of coming to places like this to ask. hard to imagine this place would even exist then. and then where would you go to tell people to search before they post?

Yep, this site does just great with many many users who do search, and those who don't. I answered your question, and so did the following post with another reason it might not have loaded. I guessed you missed that?

I think what is intended is for people to search, at the very least, this website for answers and not necessarily the internet. Think of this website as a knowledge base. It's chock-full of great information right at your fingertips. For free even!! And although questions seem new to the person asking, on a forum this large, most likely they aren't new at all.

Keep in mind that the information/answers you get here are free of charge and know one is getting paid to provide anything. They are doing it from the kindness of their heart.
