Default So my media card got wiped clean, What to do?

Please Login to Remove!

I tried to upgrade to the new OS, and it never happened, instead it wiped out my 4 gig chip. My computer cannot see the chip anymore, whether I plug it in with the usb cord, or take the chip out and put it in the fullsize sandisk chip for my card reader, what do I do?

ahh that sucks I removed my media card before upgrading my OS, which worked. I read in one of the forums that it may or may not delete the media card....

I've never heard of the OS upgrade wiping out the SD card. Did your card reader recognize the 4Gb chip before this happened? Not all card readers will read cards larger than 2Gb.

Yes it recognized it both ways, via card reader and usb. When I use the Media Manager it says that no device is connected

Maybe you damaged it when you removed it? Check to see if their are any obstructions or damage the golden prongs.

I would say cause and effect are not what you think. Sounds like the card went bad, you just happened to be upgrading.

Yea maybe... you can get a new one on ebay for like 10$... it sucks that you lost everything though.

Not worried about the content on the card, it's replaceable. I just want to reformat the card and start over, chips usually do not go bad like this.

Actually, it depends where you purchased your card. I am very reluctant to buy flash media off of eBay and other sites of that sort.

Try newegg.com for a good memory card at a cheap price. That or Amazon.com.
