Default QuickPull v2 problem

Please Login to Remove!

All of a sudden I always get the error: Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException; when trying to do a reboot. This is with version 2.0.13. I am running OS 4.7.0.148. This never happened before. I haven't installed anything new recently. This bug is mentioned as being fixed in version 2, but I never saw it until recently and I know version 2 was working fine with this OS for a while, since I used it right after upgrading. Any ideas? I tried re-installing on top of it, but it didn't help.

As silly as it sounds, try a battery pull or two...

I tried both completely uninstalling and reinstalling and battery pulls, but still the same problem. I also made sure all permissions are enabled.

I had the same problem using it with .148, went back to the .141/5.0 hybrid and it works fine.

I've noticed with "Quick Pull" if your device is hemmed up beyond the point where you can't select any of the buttons on the home screen anymore including the Quick Pull icon you have no other choice but to do what you have done prior to Quick Pull and just pull out the battery quickly!....he..he..he

I found a thread on another forum that gave this solution. Go into Options>Advanced Options>Applications and highlight Email Setup Application. BB Button, select Edit Default Permissions. Change them to Allow.

This worked for me and Quick Pull 2 now works on my Storm.

I don't know why it works either but I'm glad that did it for you.

I was able to get it to work by accessing the Email Setup Application as mention above, expanding the Connections and changing "Server Network" from Prompt to Allow. This way you don't have to allow everything. Granted, I don't know what implications changing the settings will have in regards to security but that is not a big issue with me. Getting Quick Pull to work was.

I did nearly the same except that I set everything in the connections menu to allow. Thanks for the tips. This is the best blackberry forum I have found! Most helpful too. Thanks again!

For some reason when the App Memory gets all the way to zero QuickPull will not work. You must do a real battery pull to reset the device. This is frustrating to me since I have to pull my cover off the Storm. Ouch!
