Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

If this is posted in the wrong section then apoligies.

I got my first BB curve 8520 last week and have just set up my BB to recieve emails from 2 seperate email accounts, 1 is with sky and 1 is with yahoo.

I recieve about 20 emails a day from both accounts.

My question is roulghy how much data is it using having emails from 2 accounts sent to my BB, is it using data all the time or only when i receive a email.

Many thanks.

Very difficult question to answer, and I am not sure if there is an answer.

Why are you asking? Do you have a limit on how much data you use?

Data includes Internet, email, BBM, etc. Email is compressed and automatically pushed so each one doesn't use that much - but it depends on how many characters and if there is an attachment or not.

Data intensive apps can run int he background and can consume a lot of data if not closed when you are finished using them.

I'm on a virgin mobile contract with unlimited internet but subject to fair usage is limited to 1GB a month.

I've just checked my data usage on my BB and it says i have used 16000 K of data, thats in about a week.

How much of 1 GB is gone if i have used 16000 K.

Thanks again.

1MB = 1 million KB so 16000KB is 0.16MB
which I believe works out at 0.016GB.

Hey Rob_28, I found this hand little conversion chart that I use. It may be easiest to use for you in your situation.
Bit Calculator - Convert between bits/bytes/kilobits/kilobytes/megabits/megabytes/gigabits/gigabytes.

Kilobyte, unless talking about communication "speed".

Unless your getting very large attachments or have a very limited data plan you should be ok. Internet access is also counted in the data usage.
