Why is it that Verizon is allowed to cripple the phone that we pay so much for beacaused they are packed with goodies like GPS? I knwo they want us to pay for their service but isn't that considered a monoply? How can i use my BB GPS and not pay for their srvices?

Its been debated here in countless threads.

1. It is their company. They can sell you what they like. That is not a monopoly.
2. Some say GPS on the 9530 is not locked. Read ask and debate it here:

Read up on complaints about them (not just here but regarding other devices as well). Its because customers keep paying them despite their history of doing this type of thing.

No. You need to look up the word monopoly. If Verizon was the only carrier out there they'd be a monopoly. Crippling devices and charging customers to use crippled features has nothing to do with whether they're a monopoly or not.

Vote with your wallet and leave Verizon. That is the only way they will get with the program.
