hey guys.

i am currently on TMO using BES with my company. with that said, i'd like to be able to set up one of my mailboxes to check my personal AOL email account. question is....would those email's be exposed or can be viewed by our IT dept since it's going through our BES then to my BB.

Be aware that anything on or going through your BB with BES is subject to your IT viewing it... Yes.

It would be a lot easier to set it up so that it doesn't go through your BES and your IT guys aren't viewing it. Would that work?

Once the BB is attached to the BES everything is logged by the BES. no way around it. Yes, they can view if they want but I've heard it's not that easy. Just keep your conduct professional and, if they allow it, you'll be fine.

I set up my Yahoo email to forward all mail to the second account on the BB offered by RIM. The emails worked nice until the IT folks started to filter the emails and eventually blocked all.
So as stated above, they see all

thanks for the straight answer fellas! so would it be safe to say the only way around it is to go the the aol wap site and check my mail there? would that be safe?

May be safe, but may also be blocked/logged by whatever web access filters run on your network.

It's a corporate device, subject to corporate rules.

It doesn't really matter. PIN's don't go through the BES and BES admins can pull them, for example.

In short, if you want to keep it private, keep it off a company BES-connected BB.
