Default Use 8100 battery in 8320?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 8320 from craigslist today and I have quick question: can I use the battery from my old 8100 as a backup for my 8320?

the size is the same, but the 8320 feels a bit more dense and is certainly a little thicker...does this mean that there is a fundamental difference in voltage / (mili)amperage or just capacity of the battery?

thanks for any and all help you can provide!

In a pinch I think you can use it. If fit is the same, then the only difference is that Curve batteries have higher mah (1100) than Pearl batteries (900mah).

Came across this thread which might be useful. Seems like people have varying results: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ve-8310-a.html

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

I put a pearl battery in a curve and it did not read the battery.

Yeah... i fully charged my 8100 battery (yellow) and put it in my 8320... it didnt turn on, i jsut got the red light and then a few seconds later a battery w/ a slash through it appeared on screen.

looks like my battery wont work...

oh well, i almost always have enough juice to get what i need done

EDIT: after further testing, it appears that they 8320 battery (blue) will work with my 8100! so it seems that W/E miliamperage rating the 8100's battery is putting out it isint enough for my 8320.

That's an interesting turnout. I would have figured that the 8100 battery would work in a curve but because of the lower mah, it just wouldn't last as long.

Thanks for experimenting.
