Default CWTE (Connect W/ The Experts) Seminar - BES 4.1.2

Please Login to Remove!

It appears they have the CWTE seminars scaled back to 5 cities this year and they are only covering BES 4.1 SP2. While a lot of new policy items and various fixes and some feature additions were added to SP2, I really do not see the purpose of covering ONLY 4.1.2. Why not push it back a few months and introduce BES 5.0?

Needless to say, I'd be very cautious in going to this seminar just yet. Save your money and go to WES. If you are already trained on BES 4.1, or atleast have it implemented, then definitely pocket your money for something else.

That said, there is speculation that RIM will cease sales of BES 4.1 in March. Supposedly, BES 5.0 is due out in April/May of next year.

Hmn. Too bad. I always find that it's easier to get face time at CWTE seminars. I'm happy they are covering 4.1.2 though, it seems to have more features that I need in it than 4.1 did.

I agree completely. Just kind of bummed they aren't giving a preview to BES 5.0 in that agenda (it appears not, atleast). They have information available as to the new features and all that jazz (LOOOOOOOONG laundry list of new capabilities and options).

I figure if one person in my group gets to go to a Citrix thing in Vegas and another gets to go to an Exchange thing in Vegas, then it shouldn't be a problem for them to pony up money for me to go to WES in Orlando.

If you have a SAM with RIM ask them for a product road map presentation, this will give you a good look at the 5.0 release (as jibi stated, a lot of new, nice features).

Web based admin for BES 5.0
Improved TS sessions with BES 5.0

I will post more once I find my notes from our presentation...

Are they coming out and giving the presentation, or are they giving out the slides themselves? The road map and beyond gives a LOT of great indications that RIM has actually listened, for a change.

I've heard from my rep that they may fit this presentation into the CWTE agenda, by the way. So I suppose this would be a positive for the seminar if it does materialize.

Just noticed this post. i turned up at the London CWTE slightly late (god bless the train service) only to be greeted by a dirty great screen showing a video of myself and a couple of others that's being used as the emea marketting for WES this year. If any of you are unlucky enough to see it (I know it was shown again at the german sessions as i got a call saying it put someone off lunch) all i can do is apologise....look for the bald plump guy in the white t-shirt babbling incoherently and say hi to me at next years WES maybe?
