Exclamation USB Device Not Recognized

Please Login to Remove!

My BB7250 was working just fine on my WinXP Pro system until a week or so ago. Now when I plug into the USB cable to sync, I get a "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" windows error message.

I am running OS 4.0 with BB Desktop Manager 4.1.13 connecting to a BES 4.1 Server (w. Exchange Connector)

I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled. I have soft reset and wiped the device, still nothing.

I am not sure if this is related as well, but when plugged into the USB cable or to the Travel Charger, the "lightning bolt" does not appear, though the device does charge (albeit verrrrry slowly) and I have also not been able to get a 100% charge on the device. It stops short at four bars.

I have heard rumors about a Microsoft Update that did something with a USB patch, but have not been able to find anything online referring to it.

Are there any registry edits/deletions that I can do? Any other ideas would be more than welcomed....

Is it a powered USB port? Back of a desktop not the front? I get that message sometimes but can still sync and charge so I ignore it.

One other thing, in the Desktop Manager, when I try to open the Application Loader, it only lists COM1 as on option, no USB option.

When I goto Connection Settings and select DETECT, it replies with "device not found"

I have tried the onboard USB port and a PCI USB expansion card. Same results.

Try a different USB cable. Its also possible that the USB port on the BlackBerry is giving up the ghost.

You might want to try deleting the currect desktop software and even using a registry cleaner to get rid of all traces. Reinstall the new desktop sf\oftware and start again.
