Default New t-mobile blackberry user...I love it but I have one issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have had this blackberry pearl for about week now and I must say....I was a REALLY attached to my windows based smart phone, I had used a VOQ for many years and it finally died and I went to purchase a MDA and got talked into a blackberry I really love it...the fact it dosn't crash is really refreshing...

that being said I am having a problem with the OZ instant messaging program I have the blackberry unlimited data plan and I get a error message quite a bit when trying to log into the messaging service the message I get reads something like WAP brower can not be reached....and then some times I log on and it dosnt show a contacts list and sometimes dosn't send my messages..I am in dallas so we have really good coverage but could it be a signal issue
thanks
Zach

Find another I'm program, OZ is not very good.

Scroll down to the Aftermarket Software forum on this board and test out others that use the data plan, like Verichat or even better Jivetalk which is in beta right now if you can get on, or wait.

Plus I've read OZ counts towards txt vs data so unless u have a big txt plan I would suggest and agree with what jsanders has noted

VeriChat is dead. Look in the sticky section of Aftermarket Software, you'll find several good options.

ok I got a free yahoo messanger and yak-on running and they seem to work much better, I have one more quick question....will running both programs "slow down" the blackberry?? I know with the smart phone it would bog it down pretty bad

It should not "slow down" the device. You may notice some quicker battery drainage if they run continuously, but nothing to worry about.

Can you still download it from somewhere? The only links I can find tell me the beta is now closed.

I just emailed them about 2 days ago, was sent the link to download within 24 hrs. Works great. Tmo rep advised that tmo is having a problem with AIM, global ticket, no eta. Plus, using OZ drains the txt mess minutes. So, I switched.

I've used a lot of global messagers and thought that agilemessenger (WM5) was the best, but Jivetalk puts it to shame. You won't be disappointed.
