No one else has had a Yahoo IM login problem on their BB???
Please Login to Remove!
I downloaded the Yahoo IM software and could never log on. Deleted it, re-loaded it and could sign on ok. Could also Im ok. A day or so later, could not log on again, black clock thing just keeps turning.
I have a 7250 through Verizon. Personal use only, no business.
Any help or insight?
Update 4/3/07:
I have not had any problems logging on or sending/receiving IMs on YIM since 3/30. I guess Yahoo fixed an unidentified issue.
Thanks to everyone for responding.

Have you tried canceling and then signing in again.

You also might try a hard reboot, pull your battery.

Hey, thanks for responding, both of you (love the dog). Yes, to both. I have tried canceling many times and also the reboot and pulling the battery.. no luck. I might delete the software again and reload it, it worked once but that doesn't figure out or solve what's really going on. It sounds like maybe I'm the only one having this problem....maybe it's my BB.

The only other thing to try is to WIPE the device and reload the OS.
It's drastic but may work.

Just a hunch, but try going into the browser options and clear the cache.

Good. Like I said, it was a hunch. Lucky guess.

aiharkness: I tried logging in again this morning and back to the old problem. I had not been on the web through the BB, so no cache to clear. So, I rebooted/took the battery out tried again and no problem, logged right on. I have another question for you, the last few days everynow and then I've also noticed that some of my emails had not come through on the BB that I know should have. So I would take the battery out..it would reinitialize...then the emails would all come flooding in. Problem is I've had to do this several times in the last week or so. I'm thinking this is a symptom of something else and the Yahoo IM login problem is connected.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like it was just coincidence with the browser cache. I think other's here have had the issue where a hard reset seems to open up the Yahoo email. It does seem like there would be a connection to the Yahoo messenger issue, but this is over my head. You might look for those other threads on the email issue and see if anyone had an explaination that might help you.
p.s. When you've had trouble, were you logged into Yahoo from a desktop pc? For what it's worth, try logging into Yahoo on a pc, then log off, then try logging in from the BB. I'm just grasping, I admit. But it doesn't seem like it is your BB. Maybe there's some sort of hang in the process of canceling your login on the first machine when you try and log in from the other.

I think it was a network issuse or something. I had long login times, then once logged in could not see anyone available that was loggin in thru a BB unit. I could only see those logged in thru a computer. Well now abt a week later it seems to be up and running again. everyone is available.

aiharknessd: I think when this first happened, after deleting/reinstalling the first time, I tried what you recommended, logging out on my home computer, and it didn't make a difference, but I am not positive so I'll try it again this afternoon. Also, it isn't just Yahoo email that doesn't come through to the BB. It is also my Comcast email. Nothing comes through, even though I'm getting a signal loud and clear. I wasn't seeing it just as a Yahoo issue. I'll go back and read some of the other posts regarding Email problems as you suggest. I read some before I posted but they didn't seem applicable to what I was experiencing...also, I'm not that savvy in this area, I didn't really understand what most were talking about.
rescue951: Maybe you are correct and it has been a network issue.
Thanks for responding.

I've had the same issues as well, started about a week and a half ago. Was only seeing certain people or not being able to login into Yahoo Messenger at all on the BB. Seems ok the past couple days. I think it is a yahoo network issue as well.

I'm on TMO with their latest 4.1. The only problem I've had with Yahoo messenger is the login sometimes seems to hang up. I cancel and sign in again and it always works right away after that. On my BIS email, the only issue I have is the Yahoo email sometimes doesn't delete from Yahoo when I delete it from the inbox on the BB No problems other than this, and definitly no major issues in the past few days or weeks.

UserInVa, my gut tells me it is something with your carrier. It works sometimes and seems if you had a bad install this would be broke and stay broke. Can't explain the issue with email and the hard reset.

I had a problem signing in. I unchecked the autimatic sign in and tried it again and it worked.

aiharkness, I'm not familiar with TMO? Is that another IM program? When I delete email on my BB, it never has deleted the email off Yahoo or Comcast. And also if I read my email 1st off Yahoo or Comcast and even if I delete it right away, it always shows up on the BB. I take it from what you said that isn't supposed to happen? That doesn't bother me so much, except when I don't use the BB for a while, turn it on, and a zillion old emails come flooding in.
rjw3000, when I finally get on, I can see my buddy list. Did you mean you couldn't see anyone on your list or you couldn't tell if they were online?
Maybe it is a Yahoo or network problem...thanks again.
