Thanks for the info. It is kinda make me upset that RIM is so slow to update one of its major markets, in which made blackberry popular than ever. Even Asia went and got the update before RIM's homeland.

On the other hand, I guess the reason RIM updated APAC first is to use it to test out the full scale rollout in NA, since asia has lower number of subscribers. Therefore, if anything goes wrong, the impact will be minimal.

Can't wait to see BIS 2.5 and HTML email support

That is exactly my guess... less impacted users, easier to troubleshoot issues after the fact, etc., AND, if there is a FUBAR, could be less impact on the RIM stock... than if the FUBAR impacted all of North America.

Just my thoughts.

As it uses your APN settings and does not go via BIS.

you only lose blackberry related services that function on the blackberry network, like internet, email, pin messaging, and bbim. everything else that relates to phone still works as well as any data that uses your provider's APN and not the BIS network.

all well here, mail coming in and all.

This was only for server upgrades and maintenance, you really shouldn't notice anything new or different. I don't.

The only notice mentioning 2.5 has been for next weekend.
But HTML is up and working last weekend in the AsiaPacific region, and this current w/end in UK/Europe. Good signs all around.

good that they use other regions as guinea pigs to root out any issues with deployment... bummer that we end up last to get things.
